i got my first tattoo as a birthday gift from my mom, this was in april of 2009. i had my sons full name tattooed on my wrist in a simple, typewriter-like font. it also has the little symbol that people use for hearts while typing on the computer, <3
it was just in black, and as it has already faded a little i was thinking of going back and getting it touched up a bit (they do this for free), and then i thought maybe i could add something to make his name stand out more (unfortunately not free lol). i don't want anything that takes away from his name, just some background detail, or maybe outlining of the lettering that makes it pop. does anyone have any ideas for something like this?
has anyone had colour added to a tattoo you had previously gotten in black only?

Hey hun. You shouldn't have a problem adding some colour to the tattoo. However, you will want to talk to the artist to make sure it will not only work but it will look okay. Coloured tattoos usual start out as black and grey anyways. I had my chest done black and grey and a few months later decided to add some colour. I guess it would just depend on how long the sessions are. Some people sit through long sessions to begin with. So it's nice to be able to wait to add any extra. By the way, the fading is completely natural. It is just part of the healing process. All of the peeling and stuff removes some the ink and skin but will leave the tattoo balanced with your skin. Does that make sense? Hope that helps!

i think a coloured ribbon curling around your wrist would look very nice with txt, they can do all different shades to make it look flowing - thats just my opinion to go with what youve already got and to add some popping colour
